Fraud: Court Dismisses EFCC’s Suit Against Okorocha

A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has dismissed the fraud case brought against Imo State former governor, Rochas Okorocha, by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), describing the anti-graft allegations as an abuse of judicial process.
According to the judge, the charges against Okorocha had already been adjudicated by a court with appropriate authority, hence the EFCC was not required to reopen the case.

Justice Yusuf Halilu, the sitting judge, based his ruling on Friday’s decision in favour of the former governor in a case where the EFCC had brought a comparable charge against him at the Federal High Court.
Recall that the court dismissed a suit against Okorocha last year after listening to all parties involve in the matter.
