Isese Day 2023: Lagos Declares Monday Work Free For State Workers

The Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has declared Monday, August 21, as Work Free Day for all Public Servants in the State in observance of the year 2023 Isese Day.
The Isese Day, has been set aside in Lagos to celebrate the indigenous Yoruba culture and traditions as well as the preservation of the Yoruba heritage.

The Lagos State Head of Service, Mr. Hakeem Muri-Okunola, announced in a circular that the 2023 Isese Day celebration will take place on Sunday, August 20.
He added that the announcement of Work Free Day by Governor Sanwo-Olu is a reaffirmation of his “commitment to continue to provide necessary support to traditional institutions in the State with a view to promoting our indigenous culture and tradition while preserving our heritage”.
However, all State employees were instructed to report to work on Tuesday, August 22, at 8 a.m.
