JUSTIN: EFCC Takes Over Emefiele’s Case After Being Released By DSS

Former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele, is currently being detained in the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
Objectv Media can confirm that Emefiele was picked up by EFCC agents on Thursday night, less than an hour after he was liberated from the Department of State Services’ prison. Emefiele is presently being questioned at the anti-graft agency’s National Headquarters in Jabi, Abuja.

The EFCC is investigating Emefiele for suspected misconduct while he was the president of the apex bank, according to a reliable source who disclosed the information to our correspondent on Friday morning.
“Yes, Emefiele is in our (EFCC) custody at the moment. He was taken into custody yesterday night, barely than an hour after being released by the DSS. He’s being questioned at the Headquarters right now as part of an investigation into allegations that he embezzled money while serving as the governor of CBN, among other things, the source said.
Furthermore, Objectv Media learned that the EFCC might bring further charges against Mr. Emefiele.
