LASU Lecturer, Dr. Anjorin Bags Global Virology Award In US

Dr. AbdulAzeez Anjorin, the Ag. Head of the Department of Microbiology in the Faculty of Science at Lagos State University, has represented both himself and the university well by receiving the Global Virology Network (GVN) 2023 Training Scholarship/Award for a short course in Basic and Translational Virology at the University of Maryland and Johns Hopkins University School of Public Health Baltimore, USA.

The distinguished researcher has also been chosen as one of the 2023 Trainees at the Argonne National Laboratory in Chicago, Lemont, Illinois, USA.

On its Facebook page, LASU hailed the achievement of the scholar, who is a native of of Imota in Ikorodu division of Lagos State.

Professor Dr. Christian Brechot, President of the Global Virology Network, and Professor Robert Gallo, Co-Founder and International Advisor, issued and signed Dr. Anjorin’s award letter, according to the institution.

However, Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, mni, NPOM, vice chancellor of LASU, congratulates him on the accomplishment and wishes him continued success.
