Dr. Lere Oyewumi, the Deputy Minority Leader in the Senate, has revealed plans by the 10th National Assembly to look into abandoned Federal Government projects all around the nation.
The revelation was made by Oyewumi, the senatorial candidate for Osun West, in a Friday press conference in Ikire.
He said that the Federal Government has abandoned over 10,000 projects across the nation that were being funded by it.
He added that anyone discovered to be in charge of the projects’ delays would not get off scot-free and that the lawmakers would utilise their vacation time to gather information on them.
Speaking on the subject of local government autonomy, Oyewumi remarked that the states should be held fully responsible for ensuring that the legislation is being followed to the letter. He claimed that the National Assembly had done its bit by giving council areas the authority to run their own affairs.
