Agents of the Peoples Democratic Party and the All Progressives Congress, on Sunday, clashed at the Ogun State collation centre for the 2023 governorship election.

As Sunkanmi Oyejide, a PDP agent, protested against three agents’ repeated representations of the APC, trouble began to ensue.

Oyejide also expressed his displeasure that the APC purposefully interfered with the party’s strongholds in the state in order to deny its supporters voting rights.

He said, “If you look at it very well, the ruling party disrupted the PDP strongholds and disenfranchised our members.

“We want you to take a critical look at it and investigate it. The process must be transparent.”

However, the APC agent, simply identified as Adelani, disagreed with the allegation by the PDP agent.

The development put the exercise on hold for about 15 minutes before normalcy returned.

Prof. Kayode Adebowale, the state’s Independent National Electoral Returning Officer, advised the party to select one of the three APC agents at the center in order to settle the dispute.

Also, he criticized the PDP agent for asserting strongholds, claiming that the regulations had been adhered to.

Adebowale said, “We don’t recognise strongholds. The rules have been followed.”

The exercise continued as more local government collation officers were presenting the results.
